Welcome to Parkside Primary School. Parkside Primary is nestled in the outer city suburb of Parkside in the eastern suburbs.
Our students are provided with a rich and rigorous teaching and learning program which underpins our school values of Respect, Enthusiasm, Achievement, Cooperation and Honesty.
As a member of the Parkside Primary community for over 12 years now I have witnessed incredible achievements in learning and wellbeing, seen many changes to our facilities and watched hundreds of Year 7 students venture off to the world of high school. What has remained the same has been the incredible community feel of Parkside.
Parkside is a school which strongly believes in providing our students with the skills required to be inquiring, creative and confident learners. Our vision is to provide an inspirational, diverse and creative environment where students are challenged to become confident, capable and productive contributors to society. Parent participation and involvement is vital to student learning success.
Our enrolments currently sit at 350 students in 13 classes from Reception to Year 6. Our leadership team is made of three, with a teaching staff of 21 and a student support team of 9. We ensure that each student is being tracked and monitored through a vigorous case management system. This process ensures that we are tracking each student and measuring student growth and achievement. Always ensuring that we celebrate success and important milestones along the way.
Our three priority areas include Literacy (Writing), Mathematics and Wellbeing. Our leaders focus areas are in Mathematics and Literacy and part of their role is to ensure that there is a strong consistency of practice across the school and that teachers professional learning opportunities are being met.
At Parkside our priorities in the area of Student Wellbeing are to develop resiliency and growth mindset in all our students by teaching students’ skills needed to develop their personal and social capabilities. A cohesive, supportive network between the school, child and family is crucial in assisting in a child’s wellbeing and will ensure that students feel empowered, inspired and engaged in their learning.
We look forward to you and your child joining us at Parkside as we work together in “Building a Learning Community”.
